The history of the Eiber family on the Großeiberhof can be traced back to around 1550 on the basis of church records. The farm was passed down from father to son over many generations. The tried and tested has always been retained and yet something new has been integrated.
In 1844, Baptist Eiber built a new farmhouse. A proud house made of fieldstone and with a typical crippled hip roof. It is now a protected monument. It has been lovingly renovated several times and we and several generations still enjoy living in it today.
A new cattle barn was built in 1956. With solid brick walls and a hayloft above. The cows were milked there for over 35 years. Since a new playpen was built in 1992, the old barn has served as a grain store, carpenter’s workshop and storage room. The major renovation then began in 2020. Today, the building shines in new splendor as a country hotel.
Tourism started at the Großeiberhof in 1975. It began with the accommodation of riding girls for the nearby riding school. This soon developed into the mainstay “vacation on the farm”. At the beginning of the 90s, 3 additional vacation apartments were built into an old building. For over 40 years, we made many children and parents happy.
The farm has been managed organically according to Bioland guidelines since 2001. Gradually, runs were built for the cattle, and later grazing was introduced. Es kamen wieder Hühner auf den Hof und zweitweise wurden auch wieder Schweine gehalten.
Yvonne has been offering wellness since 2016. She previously gained a lot of experience in other hotels. We now offer the best of it. Im Jahr 2020 wurde der neue WellnessStodl fertiggestellt. Since then we have been able to offer sauna, massage and beauty in all variations.
We were finally able to open our country hotel in September 2021 after 2 years of construction. A special place that you simply have to see
